Member of the Armenian wrestling team, Olympic gold, silver, and bronze medalist, four-time world champion, and seven-time European champion Arthur Aleksanyan (97 kg) lost to Iran's Mohamadhadi Saravi in the finals of the Greco-Roman style at the Olympic Games with a score of 4-1, securing a silver medal.

It is noteworthy that in the Round of 16, he defeated South Korea's Seongjun Kim with a score of 9:0, in the quarterfinals, he won against Uzbekistan's Rustam Asakalov with a score of 9:5, and in the semifinals, he triumphed over Cuba's Gabriel Rosillo Kindelani with a score of 5:3.
