Murder of 51-Year-Old Man in Dilijan Revealed

On August 5, at 12:52 PM, a report was received by the police's operational management center from the "Dilijan" Medical Center that a citizen had been transported for medical assistance with a stab wound to the chest, in an unconscious state, by an unknown person. An operational-investigative group was dispatched to the hospital. It was determined that the injured individual was 51-year-old Arthur Ulikhanyan, a resident of Dilijan, who died in the hospital without regaining consciousness.

It was also found that he was taken to the hospital by 41-year-old Arsen S., a resident of Dilijan, in his "Mercedes". Thanks to the actions of the police officers from the Tavush Regional Department and the Dilijan Division, it was established that the incident took place near a sports school, where glasses filled with alcohol and blood-like traces were found on a table, and a knife was located on the ground.

Through operational-investigative measures, at 12:50 PM, Arsen S. was identified and arrested on Kalinini Street on suspicion of committing the crime and was presented to the Dilijan Investigative Department. Under the initiated criminal proceedings, he was detained and taken to the detention facility of the Dilijan division.

On August 6, utilizing the operational information received at the Dilijan police department, joint actions by the National Police's Criminal Intelligence, Tavush Regional Department, and subordinate units, along with the Kanaker-Zeitun Division, Tavush Regional Investigative Department, and Dilijan Investigative Division, revealed that during a conflict among a group of individuals in the aforementioned area, 38-year-old Vahag H. from Yerevan stabbed 46-year-old Harutyun Gh. from Dilijan, who then retaliated by stabbing Arthur Ulikhanyan and Vahag H. with the same knife. The injuries inflicted on Arthur Ulikhanyan were incompatible with life.

On August 5, at 7:12 PM, a report was received from the "Erebuni" Medical Center by the police's operational management center, indicating that the ambulance had transported Harutyun Gh. from Dilijan with a stab-cut injury sustained during the same incident.

As a result of further operational-investigative measures, at 1 AM on August 6, Vahag H. was located and arrested at his residence in Yerevan, then transferred to the Dilijan division. He reported that he had sustained injuries during the incident. Upon examination by the ambulance team called to the division, various scrapes, stab, and cut wounds were found on different parts of his body. All relevant documents have been forwarded to the Dilijan Investigative Division. Circumstances of the case are being clarified.
