Zvartnots Airport Does Not Cancel Flights to Lebanon and Iran
Zvartnots Airport has not canceled flights to Lebanon and Iran. This was reported to Sputnik Armenia by the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia in response to the suspension of flights to these countries by several airlines.
Regarding Israel, it should be noted that Armenia does not have direct air communication with that country.
It is worth mentioning that following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of Hamas's political bureau, and the Israeli strikes on Hezbollah, tensions among Israel, Iran, and Lebanon have risen, leading various airlines to cancel flights to these regions for security reasons.
According to reports from Israeli media, at least one and a half dozen airlines have canceled flights to the country, including Aegean (Greece), Air Europa (Spain), Air India (India), Delta (USA), Fly Dubai (UAE), Iberia Express (Spain), ITA (Italy), KLM (Netherlands), LOT (Poland), United Airlines (USA), Vueling (Spain), Wizz Air (Hungary), Lufthansa (Germany), Swiss Air (Switzerland), Austrian Airlines (Austria), Brussels Airlines (Belgium), and Eurowings (Germany).
The German airline Lufthansa (which also includes Swiss International Air Lines, Austrian Airlines, and Eurowings) suspended flights to Tehran and Beirut until August 12.
Air France and KLM have also ceased flights to the capital of Lebanon.
