The organizers and direct perpetrators of the murder of Sergey Grigoryan, known by the nickname 'Fazi', have been identified, and the direct perpetrators are currently wanted, as reported by the police.

On June 11, at 11:17 PM, the police operational management center received a report about gunfire on Estonian Street in Yerevan. An operational group from the Mashtots police station was dispatched to the address, along with patrol officers, employees from the prosecutor's office, investigative committee, police, and ambulance teams.

At 11:53 PM, a report was received from Armenia Medical Center indicating that two men had been admitted with gunshot wounds. About 20 minutes later, another report was received stating that one of the men, 43-year-old Sergey Grigoryan, who was known in the underworld as 'Fazi', had died without regaining consciousness.

At the crime scene, vehicles including 'Land Cruiser', 'Toyota Camry', 'Opel Astra', and 'Toyota Corolla' were found collided. There were bullet marks on the 'Land Cruiser', and blood-like traces were discovered inside. In the trunk of the 'Opel Astra' and at the scene, a jacket marked 'police', a telescope, gasoline containers, a loaded magazine for a pistol, two radio communication devices, and numerous cartridges of various calibers were found.

Considering the peculiarities of the case, the investigation was transferred to the Main Investigation Department of Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Committee. Employees of the Criminal Police Main Department also joined the investigation.

On January 13, 2021, during a shooting incident in a parking lot on David-Bek Street in Yerevan, a hostile relationship had developed between Sergey Grigoryan and Rustam Stepanyan, a 36-year-old resident of Kotayk province, due to attacks on Stepanyan and his supporters. Subsequent incidents involving weapons occurred with the involvement of both men's acquaintances, leading to criminal proceedings.

Before the examination results were obtained and analyzed, law enforcement made significant progress towards solving the crime. Deputy Head of the Main Investigation Department of the Criminal Police, Harutyun Anoyan, stated that video footage from cameras at the crime scene and surrounding areas was analyzed, which helped determine one perpetrator's movements.

He left by taxi from in front of Tumanyan Park just after the incident and went to Proshyan village, where Rustam Stepanyan's villa is located. The actions of law enforcement became more targeted. They were even able to identify which store purchased four cups of cold coffee found at the murder scene inside the 'Opel' car.

Senior Investigator Arthur Ayvazyan from the Investigation Department of the Criminal Police stated that numerous searches were conducted at various addresses, including apartments and vehicles, resulting in biological samples being taken from suspects for identification purposes.

On June 11, the group members met several times at the villa in Proshyan village. Later, two individuals who directly committed the crime traveled to Yerevan in the 'Opel Astra' with fake license plates around 9 PM. To find the right moment and place for the murder, they pursued Sergey Grigoryan.

At around 11:15 PM, Sergey Grigoryan, accompanied by friends, exited a betting shop on Shinarar Street and got behind the wheel of his 'Toyota', with one of his companions sitting next to him, preparing to leave. At that moment, the 'Opel Astra' blocked their way, and the vehicles collided. Shots were fired towards Sergey Grigoryan from the 'Opel', after which the perpetrators fled on foot, discarding the pistol, police uniforms, a loaded magazine found in one pocket, flashlights, communication devices, masks, and a pair of gloves at different locations. Both fled separately to their gathering point villa in Proshyan village, where the crime's leader and organizer awaited them.

Law enforcement was able to track the immediate perpetrators' further actions, revealing that both left the country via Zvartnots airport at different times on the morning of June 12.

Sufficient evidence enabled the initiation of criminal proceedings against four individuals, including two as the organizers and leaders and the other two as the direct perpetrators. Requests for their arrest were presented to the supervising prosecutor, and on July 27, these requests were approved, leading to arrest warrants.

On July 28, Rustam Stepanyan was arrested at his home in Proshyan village, along with another organizer at his house in Nor Nork. They were both presented to law enforcement and subsequently, petitions for their detention were made, which were also approved. They have since been transferred to a correctional facility.

The direct perpetrators, Harutyun Sahakyan and Suren Grigoryan, have been placed on the wanted list for murder, attempted murder, and illegal possession of weapons. The investigation is continuing to clarify other circumstances of the case.
