Judge Overseeing David Tonoyan's Case Not Held Accountable
The Anti-Corruption Court judge Vahe Dolmazyan will not be held accountable. The corresponding decision was announced by the Supreme Judicial Council a short while ago.
This refers to the judge overseeing the case of former Minister of Defense David Tonoyan. The Ministry of Justice had submitted a request to the Supreme Judicial Council for disciplinary action against the judge.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the judge made an unlawful decision when he allowed Tonoyan, who is in detention, to participate in a session of the Investigative Committee examining the circumstances of the 44-day war of 2020 without handcuffs. Furthermore, he set a long and unacceptable deadline for returning Tonoyan to prison, which, according to the Ministry, the judge was not authorized to do; he should have stipulated that the return to prison occurs immediately after the conclusion of the session.
