Video: Hezbollah Strikes Northern Israel
Hezbollah has fired rockets into northern Israel from Lebanese territory, as reported by RIA Novosti. In a message released by the movement, it is stated that the rockets were launched towards the Israeli community of Beit Gilel in response to the shelling of southern Lebanese towns.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that they managed to neutralize a number of the rockets. “During the night, following an alert in northern Israel, approximately 30 projectiles flying from Lebanon were detected, most of which were intercepted by the Iron Dome air defense system. One projectile fell in the Beit Gilel area, while several others landed in open territory. No reports of casualties have been received,” the army stated on its Telegram channel.
In turn, Iron Dome has targeted the launch sites of Hezbollah and other infrastructure in southern Lebanon.
The shelling comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, which are linked to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas movement. He was killed on July 31 in an Israeli strike on his residence in Tehran. The movement has blamed Israel and the United States for Haniyeh’s death, stating that this attack will not go unanswered.
