Trump Congratulates Putin, Reason Revealed
Former U.S. President and presidential candidate Donald Trump congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on the prisoner exchange deal, calling it "excellent." The politician made this statement at a rally in Atlanta.
"I would like to congratulate Vladimir Putin on yet another tremendous deal," Trump said, as quoted by The Washington Examiner. The former U.S. President noted that while it is "nice to talk about" the return of American citizens, the U.S., in his opinion, is making "horrible deals."
On August 1, Russia, the U.S., Belarus, Germany, Slovenia, and Norway conducted an unprecedented prisoner exchange deal in modern history, involving a total of 26 individuals. The exchange took place in the Turkish capital of Ankara. Ten people, including two children, were handed over to Russia, 12 to Germany, and four to the U.S.
