US Urges Citizens to Leave Lebanon Using Any Available Flights
The US Embassy in Beirut has urged its citizens to leave Lebanon immediately using any available flights. "We advise those who wish to depart Lebanon to book any available ticket, even if that flight does not depart immediately or is not the most preferred option. US citizens who do not have the means to return home can contact the embassy for financial assistance in the form of repatriation loans," the statement said.
The diplomatic mission noted that despite numerous flight cancellations, tickets are still being sold, and citizens should not rely on military evacuations, which are very rarely undertaken by US forces.
The acting Prime Minister of Lebanon condemned the Israeli airstrikes. “We recommend that US citizens who have decided not to leave Lebanon prepare a contingency plan for emergencies and be ready to remain in shelter for an extended period,” the statement added.
