Putin Issues Stern Message to the U.S.
Russian President Vladimir Putin may respond symmetrically to the U.S. expansion towards Russia's borders if Washington does not cease its aggressive policies. This was stated by former Pentagon advisor Douglas Macgregor in an interview with journalist Natalie Brunelle.
“Putin says, 'What you are doing to us, we can do to you.' He warned us by saying, 'If you want to enter Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, or any other country and harm us, we will respond in kind in Mexico, we have our old friends in Cuba and Venezuela,'” the expert said.
In his view, the U.S. no longer has sufficient power to act with absolute impunity in the world, as the world has changed, and Washington has ceased to be a key power center. “We have vulnerable spots. They can be found in financial, economic, and geopolitical areas. Everywhere,” the colonel concluded.
Russia has repeatedly pointed out the absence of aggressive plans against the U.S. and other NATO countries. Moreover, the Kremlin has repeatedly noted that NATO, on the contrary, behaves destructively and aggressively, seeking confrontation. According to President Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the alliance is oriented towards expansion into post-Soviet territory and inciting conflicts near Russian borders.
