Chechnya Against Burqa for Women but Not Hijab, Says Kadyrov
Chechnya is against women wearing the burqa that covers their faces, but not the hijab. This was stated by Ramzan Kadyrov, as reported by RBC.
“Whoever tells my daughter to take off her hijab, I will kill them immediately, I will shoot them on the spot, no matter who they are. They are an enemy, my personal enemy, an enemy of Islam,” Kadyrov said.
According to him, many guests of various faiths come to Chechnya, but the republic's leadership is not concerned about their clothing. “We are concerned about our residents' clothing,” he added.
Kadyrov had previously stated that all the women in his family wear the hijab, which is considered a symbol of piety and dignity in Islam.
