Triathlon Competitions Postponed Due to Seine Pollution
The men's triathlon events at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris have been officially rescheduled to a later date. Originally set to take place today, July 30, the competitions will now begin on Wednesday, July 31, after the running segment.
If further issues arise regarding the competition's execution, a backup date of August 2 has been reserved.
Previously, on Sunday, July 28, and Monday, July 29, training sessions were canceled due to poor water quality in the Seine River, where the swimming portion of the triathlon is set to occur. Organizers of the 2024 Olympic Games attribute the water pollution to heavy rainfall in Paris on Friday and Saturday (July 26-27).
