Iran Considers the 'Zangezur Route' Harmful to Armenia and Stands Firm on This Position: Ali Khamenei
The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the 'Zangezur Route' detrimental to Armenia and continues to firmly uphold this position. This was stated by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Seyyed Ali Khamenei, during a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, according to the Mehr news agency.
“We deeply believe in the development of relations with Armenia. Cooperation between the two countries will continue based on mutual interests and independently of the politics of other parties. Foreigners should not create restrictions on countries’ relations with their neighbors,” he said.
In turn, Pashinyan stated that Armenia has repeatedly declared it does not accept any regional transit route within its territory.
