Will Armenia Participate in Upcoming '3+3' Format Meeting of Foreign Ministers in Turkey?
Sputnik Armenia has submitted a written inquiry to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia to clarify whether Armenia will participate in the upcoming meeting of foreign ministers in the '3+3' format to be held in Turkey.
Earlier, Mehdi Sabour, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia, announced that the next meeting of foreign ministers in the '3+3' format will take place in Turkey soon.
The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, “In the case of clear arrangements regarding Armenia's possible participation in the third meeting of the regional platform in the '3+3' format, the public will be duly informed in a timely manner.”
It is noteworthy that the '3+3' platform includes the participation of the foreign ministers of Armenia, Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. Georgia continues to refuse to join this platform.
The first meeting in this format was held in December 2021 in Moscow at the level of deputy foreign ministers of Armenia, Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. The second meeting took place in October 2023 in Iran.
