Trump Calls on Zelensky to End Ukraine Conflict

Former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump revealed details of his phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Fox News, according to BFM. Trump stated that he urged his interlocutor to put an end to the Ukrainian conflict.

“I said that we have to end this conflict. This is a war machine; you are dealing with a war machine. They (the Russians) defeated Hitler, they defeated Napoleon,” Trump remarked.

In the interview with the television channel, the Republican candidate again blamed current U.S. President Joe Biden for the situation in Ukraine. Trump emphasized that the chances of starting a conflict are “zero.” He recalled that this did not occur during his tenure as president.

Trump and Zelensky had their first phone conversation since 2021 on July 19. Talking about the call on his Truth social media page, the former president described it as “very good.”
