Armenian Side Prevents Agricultural Exports to Russia: MP
A group of exporters has reported that for over a week now, the Armenian side has been hindering agricultural exports to Russia. The Armenian authorities are implementing stringent phytosanitary controls, prohibiting the export of fruits and vegetables.
Individual exporters are rightly raising concerns that if the same agricultural products do not meet the standards, why are they being sold in the Armenian market? Why is a laboratory examination only recalled when it comes to exporting to foreign markets?
As a result, trucks have been stranded for days at the Bavra border crossing, causing hundreds of tons of fruits and vegetables to spoil, placing farmers, who are already burdened by loans, in a difficult situation.
In connection with this issue, I am preparing to send a letter to the State Service for Food Safety, requesting clarification regarding the current situation.
