Administrative Supervision Imposed as a Restraint Measure on the Askeran Mayor

Administrative supervision has been imposed as a restraint measure on Hayk Shamiryans, the Mayor of Askeran. This was announced by lawyer Vahe Yeprikyan on his Facebook page.

"The court, presided over by R. Marikyan, partially satisfied the investigator's request to extend the house arrest of Askeran Mayor Hayk Shamiryans, who is charged under parts 2 and 3 of Article 255 of the RA Criminal Code and part 1 of Article 457, by applying administrative supervision as a restraint measure," wrote the lawyer.

It is worth reminding that on May 22, 2024, following a report received from the RA Police's Cybercrime Division, factual data was received during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case launched by the RA Investigative Committee's Main Division for Crimes Against Property, indicating that H. Sh. (Askeran Mayor Hayk Shamiryans) had fraudulently attempted to steal a light passenger vehicle of the brand "LADA NIVA NIVATRAVEL", manufactured in 2022, valued at 5,050,000 AMD, owned by another individual(s), by including false, non-existing information regarding the authority to alienate someone else’s property in the texts of a decision made on January 18, 2024, and a subsequent written statement.

“Subsequently, on January 23, 2024, without legal grounds, acting as a party to the contract, he entered into a donation agreement for the vehicle, thereby illegally alienating the property to a related person, his grandfather, thus fraudulently misappropriating the aforementioned vehicle valued at 5,050,000 AMD.

During the preliminary investigation, a search was conducted at the residence of the aforementioned individual, during which, among other things, the originals of the aforementioned decisions were discovered and seized, albeit with a different date, different content formulation, as well as a draft decision regarding the alienation of another vehicle, a "UAZ HUNTER".

Based on the gathered data, H. Sh. was charged under part 3 of Article 255 and part 1 of Article 457 of the RA Criminal Code. The preliminary investigation is ongoing, and investigations are being conducted to clarify the circumstances of alienation regarding this as well as other properties, including the "UAZ HUNTER" vehicle," the Investigative Committee reported.
