Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed gratitude to U.S. President Joe Biden for his "friendship with Israel" and efforts to secure the release of hostages.

"I thank President Biden for the heartfelt support he has shown Israel. After the brutal attack on October 7, he rightly called HAMAS an 'open evil.' He has sent two aircraft carriers to the Middle East to prevent a larger war, and he came to Israel to support us in our darkest hour, a visit that will never be forgotten," Netanyahu said.

He also proposed that the U.S. create a new alliance in the Middle East, similar to NATO, aimed at countering the "Iranian threat."
