VIDEO: Avinyan's Press Conference Commences, Outlines Accomplished Works

The press conference of Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan has begun, during which he outlined the accomplishments of the municipality for the first half of this year.

Avinyan reported that landscaping works are underway in the yards of the administrative districts of the capital. In parallel, parks, gardens, and recreational areas are being improved and renovated.

He also addressed the repaving of streets and the flooding resulting from rains, stating, "This year, we have carried out unprecedented volumes of pothole repairs and medium repairs." According to Avinyan, the condition of the road network will be significantly better by the end of the year compared to previous conditions.

Speaking on the flooding issues, the mayor noted that the responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the drainage systems lies with the company "Veolia Water," but the municipality has cataloged the state of the drainage systems. "Our first proposal to the government is to renegotiate the contract, which would allow the municipality and perhaps the company to make significant investments in the water systems. This proposal is under discussion, and I am confident that solutions will begin to emerge this year," he said.
