Police Identify Shooter of Former Armenian Weightlifting Champion

On July 24, the police located the suspect who shot 38-year-old Vardan Davtyan, a former champion weightlifter of Armenia, on July 20 in Yerevan, according to shamshyan.com.

According to a photojournalist, the Arabkir police department received operational information indicating that the suspect was hiding in the village of Getik in the Gegharkunik region. Upon arriving in the mentioned village, the police confirmed the validity of the received information.

In a brief period, the police, through an ambush operation, discovered the suspect near one of the houses on 3rd Street in the village, arrested him, and then transported him to the Arabkir police department, from where he was presented to the investigative division of Arabkir with the prepared documents.

According to the website's information, the suspect is 49-year-old Gor Abrahamyan, registered in Yerevan.
