Russia and Iran Complete Preparations for Comprehensive Partnership Agreement

Russia and Iran have completed preparatory work for the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement, with a historic signing set to take place soon. This was announced by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenkov.

According to Rudenkov, “the editorial work on the document aimed at elevating Russian-Iranian relations to the status of comprehensive strategic partnership has lasted nearly two and a half years and can now be considered complete.”

The newly elected Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin that Tehran is ready to sign the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement with Moscow at the BRICS summit scheduled to be held in Kazan in October.
