Mercedes Driver Opens Fire at Young Man Riding a Self-Balancing Scooter on Tumanyan Street
On July 21, at 17:05, a citizen called the operational management center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to report that a driver of a Mercedes had shot at a young man riding a self-balancing scooter on Tumanyan Street.
The police reported that an operational group dispatched to the scene established that at 16:55, the Mercedes driver had an argument with the self-balancing scooter rider, during which they pulled at each other. Following this, the Mercedes driver fired a shot from a gas pistol.
A criminal case has been initiated on hooliganism charges. Thanks to the joint operational and investigative activities of the criminal investigation officers from the Yerevan city police department, as well as the Central and Erebuni departments, it was determined that the act was committed by a 20-year-old resident of Yerevan. Through explanatory work, he presented himself at the Central police department and was arrested on reasonable suspicion of hooliganism. A personal search revealed a starter pistol and one cartridge.
The documents have been submitted to the investigative body. An investigation is underway.
