US Deploys Nuclear Bombers Near Ukraine Border

The United States has stationed two intercontinental nuclear bombers at the Romanian Air Force's 57th Air Base, not far from the Ukrainian border. This information was reported by the US Air Forces in Europe.

The B-52 Stratofortress bombers at the Romanian base will operate as part of the 20th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron of the US Air Force. They will also cooperate with NATO forces.

The bombers will participate in the Bomber Task Force Europe operation. It is noted that this is the first time American strategic bombers are operating in Romania.

Prior to their arrival at the Romanian base, the American B-52s conducted joint flights escorted by fighter jets from Romania and Finland.
