Nearly 2,500 Trucks Waiting Near the 'Upper Lars' Checkpoint: Details

Approximately 2,500 trucks are waiting to cross the Russian-Georgian border at the 'Upper Lars' checkpoint, reports the North Ossetia traffic management center. This information was provided by Sputnik Armenia.

As of this morning, there are 2,465 trucks registered in the electronic queue to travel to Georgia. On July 18, the number of trucks waiting to cross the border was recorded at 1,900.

Earlier, a heightened state of readiness was declared in the republic due to the accumulation of transit vehicles at the state border. Within this framework, access for trucks into the region has been restricted until parking lots are cleared.

The military road passes through a high mountainous area and is currently the only land route connecting Russia with Georgia and Armenia.
