Kamala Harris Launches Campaign for U.S. Presidency
U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has commented on President Joe Biden's decision to withdraw from the presidential race and support her as the unified Democratic candidate for the upcoming November elections.
“I am grateful to Joe Biden for his extraordinary leadership as President of the United States and for serving our country for decades. It is an honor for me to receive the President’s endorsement, and I intend to be worthy of it and win this candidacy. I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party, bring our nation together, and defeat Donald Trump and his extremist Project 2025 agenda. If you’re with me, please donate right now,” she wrote on X.
The day before, Joe Biden announced that he would not remain in the 2024 presidential race, expressing his support for his Vice President, Kamala Harris. In his letter, Biden referred to Harris as an “extraordinary partner” and stated that choosing her as Vice President was “the best decision he made.” “Today, I want to offer my full support for Kamala to be our party’s nominee this year,” Biden said.
