US Prepares New Sanctions Against Chinese Companies - Sullivan
The National Security Advisor of the United States, Jake Sullivan, has announced that Washington is preparing new sanctions against Chinese companies that, in the view of the American side, support Russia in its war against Ukraine. It has been noted that banks could also be targeted. This was reported by Bloomberg.
‘We believe that China needs to stop, as this is beyond the appropriate behavior of nation-states,’ Sullivan stated at the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado, according to the agency.
The official reminded that US President Joe Biden's executive order allows the US Treasury Department to target banks that facilitate the flow of dual-use goods to Russia. Sullivan indicated that Washington will continue to impose restrictive measures against banks in the PRC and other countries in the case of transactions with the Russian military-industrial complex.
