I Will Bring Peace to the World and End the War, Trump Says in Phone Call with Zelensky

Former US President and presidential candidate Donald Trump had a phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on July 19. This was announced by Trump on his Truth Social page, as reported by RIA Novosti.

According to Trump, he and Zelensky had a very good phone call during which the Ukrainian president congratulated him on the successful conduct of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee and condemned the assassination attempt against him.

“As your next president of the United States, I will bring global peace and end the war that has taken so many lives and devastated countless innocent families. Both sides can gather and negotiate an agreement that will put an end to the violence and pave the way for prosperity,” Trump stated.

Zelensky, for his part, wrote on his X microblog that he had agreed with Trump to meet soon to discuss concrete steps toward peace.

Trump has repeatedly stated that he intends to swiftly resolve the Ukrainian conflict if he wins the 2024 presidential election. In a primary debate with current US President Joe Biden on June 27, Trump promised that if re-elected, he would be able to end the conflict before assuming office on January 20, 2025.
