Zelensky Sets Deadline for End of War's 'Hot' Phase

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has stated that with the support of Western countries, Ukraine could "attempt to bring the hot phase of the war to an end by the end of this year." He made this remark during an interview with the BBC while visiting Great Britain.

"I think that if we act in unison and follow the Peace Summit format, we could put an end to the hot phase of the war. We can try to do this by the end of this year," Zelensky said.

The peace program must be fully coordinated with Ukraine's allies so that “no one tries to replay the game after the end of the war,” emphasized Zelensky.

The war could end through diplomatic resolution at the negotiating table if Western countries apply pressure on Moscow, according to the Ukrainian president.

“This does not mean that we must capture all territories in battles. I believe that this can be achieved diplomatically,” he stated, adding that at the same time, Russia’s weakening on the battlefield would put Ukraine in a stronger position at the negotiating table.

According to Zelensky, from Great Britain, Kyiv seeks permission to use Western-supplied weapons to strike Russian territory without restrictions on range.
