Rosselkhoznadzor on Armenian Tomatoes and Apples
Rosselkhoznadzor has not imposed any restrictions on Armenian fruits and vegetables, but has requested the Armenian side to suspend supplies from a number of producers that have committed multiple violations. This information was provided by the agency in response to a query from Sputnik Armenia.
Earlier, Armenian media published a photocopy of a letter from Rosselkhoznadzor dated July 4, which indicated that eight cases had been identified where the maximum allowable level of pesticide residues had been exceeded in batches of Armenian tomatoes and apples imported into Russia. As a result, the import of products from 16 companies was temporarily suspended.
Rosselkhoznadzor clarified that they had previously sent information to their Armenian counterparts regarding an additional 80 violations. The Russian agency is in communication with its Armenian partners on this issue. Negotiations are scheduled for July 23 at the level of deputy heads of Rosselkhoznadzor and the Armenian food safety inspection body. The inspection agency announced today that they have agreed to conduct online consultations with Rosselkhoznadzor.
