No Good Has Come for Russia Under Trump, But There Was Dialogue Between Countries: Peskov
The official representative of the Kremlin, Dmitry Peskov, stated that during Donald Trump's presidency in the United States, no good was done for Russia, and new restrictions were imposed, but there was dialogue between the countries.
This is reported by kommersant.ru, detailing that Trump mentioned in an interview that he had good relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, thus asserting that Ukraine "was not threatened by war." Journalists asked Dmitry Peskov whether he was aware of Trump's stance on anti-Russian sanctions.
Former President Trump told Bloomberg in an interview that he is considering the possibility of easing sanctions against Russia to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He noted that he does not like sanctions as a means of influencing third countries.
Peskov told reporters that he is not familiar with the former president's statements. According to the Kremlin official, Russia considers the sanctions illegitimate from the standpoint of international law.
"Sanctions harm not only those against whom they are applied but also those who impose them," Peskov said.
