Boy Falls from Roof onto Car, Doctors Fight for His Life
Today, July 17, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. According to shamshyan.com, around 5:50 PM, operational information was received at the Central Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia that an underage child was transported to the hospital with various degrees of bodily injuries after falling from the roof of a building located on Mashtots Avenue.
According to a photojournalist at the scene, police officers and patrollers discovered a "Nissan" vehicle in the yard of the building, with damage to its windshield and front section. Operational information revealed that the boy is between 10 and 11 years old and fell from a height.
The first responders were the residents, who provided assistance and transported the child to the hospital in their car. The Central Department of the Police has informed the investigative body of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, specifically the Central and Norq Marash administrative districts' investigative department, from which an investigative team has arrived led by the responsible investigator of the day.
A criminal proceeding has been initiated in connection with the incident. The website notes that several citizens gathered at the scene, who refused to speak on camera, stated: “The child is an 11-year-old boy who fell from the roof of the 5th floor. The roof was made of foam plastic, and he probably stood on it, which broke. The child has been taken to the ‘St. Astvatsamayr’ Medical Center.”
