Alexis Ohanian Reveals Shocking Lyme Disease Diagnosis

Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian has revealed that he has been diagnosed with Lyme disease, a shocking revelation for him, according to Daily Mail.

The 41-year-old millionaire shared that doctors delivered the diagnosis after conducting numerous tests.

“After undergoing many medical examinations and tests, I found out that I have Lyme disease. Fortunately, there are no symptoms, but I will be undergoing treatment,” he stated.

Lyme disease is transmitted through the bite of an infected tick. Ohanian expressed his surprise in this context, stating, “I spend so little time in nature, so the disease was unexpected.”

He added that he will be taking antibiotics to combat the illness.

Lyme disease is caused by the Borrelia bacteria. People typically acquire Lyme disease through the bite of a tick that carries the bacteria. Early signs of the disease include fever, headaches, and fatigue. If left untreated, it can lead to symptoms such as facial paralysis, joint pain, severe headaches, palpitations, and more. Months or years later, recurring episodes of joint pain and swelling may occur. Occasionally, sharp pains or tingling sensations in the hands and feet can also be experienced. Despite treatment, approximately 10-20% of cases may still present joint pain, memory issues, and fatigue for at least six months.
