Car Rolls Into Gorge on Yerevan-Sevan Road, Passenger Dies at Scene
On July 15, at 21:34, the crisis management center of the Kotayk regional rescue service received information that a traffic accident had occurred on the Yerevan-Sevan highway and that rescuers were needed. This was reported by the rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
A rescue team from the special operations unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and a firefighting rescue squad from the regional rescue service were dispatched to the scene.
It was found that at the 20th km of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, an 'Infiniti' vehicle (driver: Zh. M., born in 1992) had left the roadway, collided with a roadside barrier, and rolled into a gorge (approximately 70 meters). Passenger E. M. (born in 1975) died at the scene.
Before the arrival of the rescuers, the driver and passengers L. M. (born in 1975) and M. M. (born in 2017) were transported to a medical center, where they received appropriate medical assistance and were discharged.
The rescuers de-energized the vehicle and moved E. M.'s body closer to the vehicle for transport.
