20-Year-Old Climbs Roof to Retrieve Ball, Electrocuted and Dies in Hospital
On July 14, a tragic incident occurred in the Armavir region. Around 16:50, the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs received a call from the Ejmiatsin Medical Center reporting that a citizen had been admitted with a diagnosis of "electrocution," as reported by Shamshyan.com.
Doctors at the hospital informed the police that the patient was unable to provide an explanation of the incident.
Police officers from the Vagharshapat division determined that around 16:00, after swimming in a pool located on Mashtots Street, 20-year-old Manvel P. from the Armavir region had climbed onto the roof of the house to retrieve a ball, during which he came into contact with a power line and was electrocuted.
On July 15, around 03:00, the Ejmiatsin Medical Center notified the Vagharshapat police that Manvel P. had died in the hospital.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Vagharshapat investigative division of the Armavir regional investigative department regarding the incident.
