VIDEO: Dead Animals Found Frozen in Argentina After Severe Cold Snap
In Argentina, dead animals have been found frozen solid following a severe cold snap. The National Meteorological Service and other meteorologists are announcing that the second week of July will be the coldest of the year. Additionally, several regions are under weather alerts due to extreme cold conditions.
Earlier, the National Meteorological Service had issued a red alert for extreme cold in various parts of Argentina. The historic winter has enveloped Patagonia in severe cold, with temperatures dropping to -25°C, resulting in river freezes in southern Santa Cruz.
A group of Argentine soldiers conducted helicopter flights towards the critical area to assess the situation, which is deemed the harshest winter since 1907. Striking aerial images reveal a desolate landscape, completely covered in frozen rivers and a thick layer of snow that blankets everything in its path.
The low temperatures have significant impacts on the region's flora and fauna, causing the deaths of various animals. Local residents are isolated due to heavy snowfall, which has blocked roads and made access to food and fuel for heating challenging. Authorities are urging the public to take extreme precautions and avoid going out unless absolutely necessary.
