I Love Biden, But We Need a New Candidate: Clooney Appeals to Democrats

Hollywood actor and producer George Clooney, an influential donor to the Democratic Party, has urged President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.

Clooney stated that while Biden has won many battles throughout his career, he cannot win the battle against time. “I love Joe Biden, but we need a new candidate,” he emphasized.

The Hollywood star expressed these thoughts in an article for the New York Times, noting, “It pains me to say this, but Joe Biden, whom I met three weeks ago at a fundraising event, is not the 2010 Biden.”

“He’s not even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same person we all saw during the debate,” Clooney remarked.

Biden’s team responded to the Hollywood star, with an anonymous source telling American media, “The president remained at the fundraiser for more than 3 hours, while Clooney quickly took a photo and left.”

In his article, Clooney wrote, “Our party leaders need to stop telling us that 51 million people didn’t see what we saw. It’s about age. With this candidate, we cannot win in November.” Clooney added that his concerns resonate with the opinions of “every” member of Congress he has spoken to.
