Details Revealed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding Shootings on Erebuni Street

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that on July 9, operational data was received by the criminal investigation department of the Yerevan city police indicating that a young man had fired shots near one of the buildings on Erebuni Street, and there was an injured citizen.

"Criminal investigators from the Yerevan city police and the Erebuni division, through joint efforts, discovered that at 6:30 PM, the mentioned young man had gotten into an argument over domestic issues with another young man and fired shots in his direction. An examination of surveillance footage revealed certain circumstances of the incident, while two shell casings were found at the scene of the crime. At 7:05 PM, the operational management center received a report from the 'Erebuni' medical center that a 27-year-old resident of Nor-Aresh was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg," the statement said.

As a result of the measures taken, it was determined that the young man who was taken to the hospital had argued and was shot at by a 25-year-old resident of the same neighborhood at around 6:30 PM. In subsequent actions, criminal investigators from the Erebuni division located him on 44th Street in Nor-Aresh at 7:40 PM, arrested him for causing bodily harm and illegal possession of a weapon, and presented him to the department. A pistol fell from his waistband during the arrest.

A criminal case has been initiated, and the prepared documents have been submitted to the investigative division," the statement concluded.
