As Long as We Don't Have 128 F-16s, We Can't Match Them in the Air – Zelensky
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed hope that the F-16 fighter jets promised by international partners will arrive in Ukraine this summer. He emphasized that Kyiv requires at least 128 aircraft, as reported by pravda.com.ua.
“There is a serious decision to supply F-16s to Ukrainians... but how many? You know, we are always waiting. It was like when my mother would wait for me after class, and I would always find excuses to come home late. It’s the same thing, only much more serious,” said Zelensky.
The president noted that Russia uses 300 aircraft every day in its war against Ukraine, while partners have committed to supplying decisions for only 10 or 20 aircraft. “Even if 50 are provided, it is nothing, as the Russians have 300. We are defending ourselves; we need 128... As long as we don’t have 128, we won’t be able to match them in the air,” Zelensky added.
