Prosecutor's Office to Appeal Verdict Against Vladimir Gasparyan and Others
The Prosecutor's Office of Armenia will appeal the verdict against former Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan and others. This was reported to Aysor.am by the Prosecutor's Office.
After a year and a half of trial, the court today found former Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan, his former deputy Leon Yeranosyan, and two other former high-ranking police officials guilty. However, Gasparyan and Yeranosyan were released from liability due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
Former Head of Internal Audit Division Vardan Tunyan and former Commander of Police Troops Gurgen Grigoryan were also found guilty but were exempted from serving punishment on the same grounds of expiration of the statute of limitations. None of the former officials admitted their guilt.
