Gasparyan: Some Adventurers Tried to Act a Bit Cunningly
Former Head of the Police of Armenia Vladimir Gasparyan stated in a press briefing with journalists that he would express an opinion regarding the court verdict after familiarizing himself with it. Gasparyan did not clarify whether he would appeal the verdict or not.
“The verdict will be in our hands, we will get acquainted, and based on that, we will provide a solution. Of course, I will pursue the path of acquittal,” he said.
When asked if he expected such a decision from the court, Gasparyan responded, “I always expect everything.”
Regarding whether he sees political persecution in all this, he replied, “No, there has been no political persecution, but some adventurers have tried to act a bit cunningly to please the leaders.”
In response to a question about former police chief Valery Osipyan, he said, “We do not talk about the deceased; let’s move forward.” Gasparyan also referred to the events of 2018, saying, “Osipyan was our liaison; he was told what he needed to hear and passed it on.”
It is worth recalling that Vladimir Gasparyan was sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment, but was released from serving the sentence.
