Defense Ministry Rejects Opposition MP's Requests to Visit Frontline
The Ministry of Defense has rejected the requests of the Secretary of the National Assembly’s 'Honorary' faction, Tigran Abrahamyan, to visit the frontline.
The MP detailed on his Facebook page: 'On June 17, I sent a letter to the Ministry of Defense to organize my visit to several directions of the Armed Forces. I selected directions that, so to speak, were not problematic in any regard—neither politically nor otherwise. The Ministry responded to my letter 26 days later, on July 9, after the deadlines specified in the letter had passed, thus rejecting it on the grounds that “it is not possible to organize your visits in the specified directions during the indicated timeframe.”
I would like to point out that there have been times when the Ministry of Defense has demonstrated flexibility even in such situations, but now it has found an absurd 'reason' to deny my visits to the frontline. There was also a rejection in May (for a letter sent earlier which had not been denied), but I thought it was due to technical reasons resulting from certain circumstances. Will the Ministry of Defense insist that the issue is technical or a misunderstanding? It still has a few more days to clarify, and I will address the topic with more layers and nuances later after certain detailed clarifications.'
