Video: Please Declare Gasparyan Innocent, Attorney Says

During the final court session regarding the case of former Armenian police chief Vladimir Gasparyan, held under the chairmanship of Judge Vardges Sarkisyan at the Anti-Corruption Court, his defense attorney Alexander Kochubayev delivered a defense statement. He requested that the court declare Vladimir Gasparyan innocent.

It is noteworthy that the judge rejected attorney Alexander Kochubayev's motion to appoint a forensic medical examination regarding Vladimir Gasparyan's health condition, stating: "The court records that none of the illnesses are included in the manifestations defined by the government in its decision. Fortunately for you, these illnesses do not have the degree of severity established by the relevant government decision; therefore, there is no necessity to resume the trial and appoint a forensic medical examination. The information on existing health issues will be taken into account by the court and will be assessed when rendering a possible guilty verdict and determining a potential sentence, should the court reach such a conclusion."
