Valery Osipyan Responds to Vladimir Gasparyan: 'I Will Say This and Remain Silent So You Can Sleep Peacefully'
Former Chief of Police of Armenia, Valery Osipyan, finds the recent statements made about him by his former superior, Vladimir Gasparyan, to be completely unacceptable. He expressed this in an interview with Irakanum.am.
Earlier, it was reported that Vladimir Gasparyan had labeled Osipyan a traitor during a press briefing following the conclusion of a court case against him, claiming that Osipyan had even betrayed Nikol Pashinyan.
Osipyan characterized Gasparyan's remarks as gossip unbecoming of a man. “I have always respected Vladimir Gasparyan and been grateful to him, but what he has said today is utterly unacceptable to me. I wouldn’t want to speak about it, and frankly, I wouldn’t give any importance to Vladimir Gasparyan's statements,” Osipyan stated. “Last year he spoke through his lawyer. As for the accusation of treason, Mr. Gasparyan, take a look at yourself and your surroundings. I have remained silent all this time while you have consistently disrupted my work, talking to your friends about how you will soon return to the system.”
Regarding the allegation that Osipyan had betrayed since the events related to “Sasna Tsrer,” he advised Gasparyan to refresh his memory, addressing the National Security Service, suggesting they might provide some recordings from those days. “I remained principled to the end, loyal to my commitments and mission as an officer, man, and friend, because my friends and colleagues lost their lives there,” he assured.
He then referred to the events of 2018 and his involvement in them, noting that he had urged Gasparyan to take action but received a response that everything was 'under control.' “Is this not betrayal? I will say this and continue to remain silent so you, Mr. Gasparyan, can sleep peacefully,” concluded Osipyan.
