"October Will Determine Georgia's Fate" - Saakashvili
In October, not only Georgia's fate for the next 20-25 years will be decided, but also the life of an entire generation, stated Mikheil Saakashvili, the third President of Georgia. This was reported by Aliq.ge.
Saakashvili made this statement during a court hearing at the Tbilisi City Court, which he attended remotely. He spoke about the importance of the upcoming elections. According to him, the current government is focused on the past, while his founded opposition party, the United National Movement, is focused on the future. He also noted that the electoral list should be filled with new people.
“I want to tell you the following, of which I am confident: The reforms we implemented over nine years, bringing Georgia out of the darkness and swamp of the 1990s, can no longer be reversed by anyone. Now the most important thing is to move forward because these elections are not just about the past, these elections relate primarily and exclusively to the future,” Saakashvili said.
It should be noted that parliamentary elections in Georgia are scheduled for October 26, 2024.
