44-year-old woman reports to police about 2 million dram loss due to doctor's negligence in IVF treatment

On July 3, an unusual incident occurred in Yerevan. At around 09:55, Marieta T., a 70-year-old resident of the Aragatsotn region, called the Central Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia and reported that she had a criminal complaint against a doctor. She requested the police to come to the Research Center for Mother and Child Health located at 22 Mashtots Avenue, as reported by Shamshyan.com.

At the scene, Marieta H., the wife of Marieta T.'s son and a 44-year-old resident of the Aragatsotn region, reported that between April and May, after making the necessary payments, she sought treatment at the aforementioned medical center for in vitro fertilization (IVF). However, the results of the procedure were negative because, prior to the process, the head of the in vitro fertilization department, Georgi Okoev, failed to conduct the necessary sonographic examinations. As a result, a pre-existing condition was not diagnosed and the related complication was not addressed, leading to damages of approximately 2 million drams.

According to sources, Marieta H. works as a senior nurse at the “Metsamor” medical center.
