Tragic Incident in Syunik: Seven Family Members Hospitalized, 4-Year-Old Girl Dies

On July 5th, a tragic incident occurred in the Syunik region. Around 23:50, operational information was received by the Syunik regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs that several citizens had been transferred to the 'Goris' medical center around 22:00, diagnosed with 'acute exogenous poisoning.'

According to shamshyan.com, a police operational group headed by the regional department head Vardan Mkrtchyan and the head of the Goris department Mushegh Gevorgyan was dispatched to the hospital. The police and patrol officers found that residents of the Syunik region, including 9-year-old Marianna K., and 4-year-old Luiza K., were among those admitted. Today, the Goris police department reported that residents from Syunik, including 11-year-old Helen K., 31-year-old Ani K., 6-year-old Ramela K., newborn Ani K., and 34-year-old Grigor K. had also been admitted with 'acute exogenous poisoning.'

Police and investigators clarified that on the same day at around 20:00, A. Poghosyan had dined at home with those subsequently hospitalized, consuming processed meats and other foods, after which their health deteriorated, leading to their transfer to the 'Goris' medical center, where Luiza K. suddenly passed away without regaining consciousness.

Upon returning to their home, police and investigators found food remnants which were collected as samples for further examination. Reports indicate that one of the poisoned children was immediately intubated and transferred to the 'Muratsan' children's hospital in Yerevan via Armenian air ambulance. The child's life was reportedly saved thanks to the doctors at the 'Muratsan' children’s hospital.
