Shooting from a Car in Central Yerevan; Suspect Surrendered
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, on July 4, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Central Division of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs identified the brand and license plate of the vehicle from which shots were fired on June 1 on Koghbatsi Street. The investigation was led by department head Ervand Nikoyan, deputy for operational matters Vahagen Tadevosyan, and the head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Marash Division, Marlén Hakobyan.
Photojournalists reported that the police, confident in the credibility of the operational information, determined that the vehicle contained three individuals: 30-year-old Davit Harutyunyan from Yerevan, 30-year-old Arman Nikolyan from Armavir Province, and 33-year-old Tigran Markosyan, also from Yerevan.
The officers conducted explanatory work, resulting in Arman Nikolyan voluntarily presenting himself on July 4 at the Investigative Committee of Armenia’s Yerevan city investigative administration for the Central and Norq-Marash administrative districts, where a criminal case was initiated regarding the incident.
Earlier, a photojournalist reported that shots had been fired in Yerevan on July 1. Around 11:10 PM, operational information was received by the Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Criminal Investigation Department of Yerevan city. It was reported that shots had been fired on Yeznik Koghbatsi Street. Police and patrol officers discovered 11 cartridge cases fired from a pistol in front of building 49 on E. Koghbatsi Street and several hundred meters away towards Amiryan Street.
