New Details on Investigative Actions at the Arabkir Administrative District Head's Office
The spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, Gor Abrahamyan, made a post on his Facebook page regarding the ongoing investigative actions at the Arabkir Administrative District head's office, which is presented below:
“In addition to the information published yesterday on this platform regarding the investigative actions conducted at the office of the head of the Arabkir Administrative District of Yerevan, I report the following: a relevant criminal case has been initiated and is being investigated at the Main Investigation Department for Crimes Against the State, Constitutional Order, and Public Security of the RA Investigative Committee, under Article 441, Part 2, Points 2 and 4; Article 46-441, Part 2, Points 2 and 4; Article 435, Part 2, Points 3 and 4; Article 436, Part 2, Point 3; and Article 437, Part 1.
As part of the ongoing preliminary investigation and with the assistance of employees from the Yerevan City Department of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, extensive investigative actions have been carried out. Based on the factual data obtained, charges have been brought against eight individuals, including three officials from the Arabkir Administrative District office. All of the persons mentioned have been detained.
For four of the accused, including two officials, custody has been applied as a preventive measure, while another official has been placed under house arrest and bail of 30 million drams has been set. Additionally, for three other individuals, a travel ban has been imposed as a preventive measure.
In the further phases of the investigation, additional information will be provided as necessary, taking into account the interests of the preliminary investigation.
Notice: An individual accused of a crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia, following a court judgment that has entered into legal force.”
It is recalled that yesterday, on July 3, investigative actions were carried out at the Arabkir Administrative District office, and both the head of the Arabkir Administrative District, Aram Azatyan, and his deputy were taken into custody. It became known today that another of Azatyan's deputies, Gegham Karapetyan, was also arrested. The court has chosen house arrest as a preventive measure for Aram Azatyan, with a bail set at 30 million drams.
