VIDEO: Couples Selling and Purchasing 'Crystal' Drugs Arrested

The criminal investigators of the Ashtarak division of the police received operational information that a 50-year-old resident of Tumanyan Street in Ashtarak was illegally acquiring, storing, and distributing various types of narcotic substances.

In light of this fact, a criminal case was initiated at the regional investigative department of Aragatsotn. The operational information was acted upon on June 24. At 16:50, three men were arrested in Ashtarak on suspicion of illegally acquiring, storing, and using narcotic substances, and they were transported to the division along with a car of the Opel brand driven by one of them. The vehicle was relocated to a secured area.

A personal search of the 52-year-old passenger revealed a white crystalline substance hidden in his sock. According to him, this substance is a type of crystal narcotic. The information from the criminal investigators of Ashtarak was substantiated.

It turned out that the 50-year-old resident of Tumanyan Street and his wife had also sold 'crystal' to another resident of Ashtarak on the same day. The police arrested this additional resident of Ashtarak on suspicion of illegally acquiring and using narcotics at 21:30. During a personal search, used and new syringes and two packages filled with crystalline substances weighing 1.34 and 2.17 grams were found in a polyethylene bag in his hand.

Thus, after obtaining sufficient evidence, at 21:50, the 50-year-old resident of Tumanyan Street was arrested on suspicion of distributing illegal narcotics on Kasakh Street in Ashtarak and was transported to the division along with his Opel vehicle. The car was moved to a secured area. Minutes later, his wife was also arrested on their street. A personal search revealed filled and empty syringes, three glass vials, etc., in her possession.

The aforementioned individuals were taken to the detention center. By the court's decision, the 50-year-old resident of Tumanyan Street was placed under house arrest. The circumstances are currently being clarified during the investigation.
