VIDEO: Unrest Continues in Turkey with New Footage

Julya

Unrest continues in several cities in Turkey due to anti-Syrian riots. Protests have also occurred in other Turkish cities, including Konya, Bursa, and Istanbul. In recent days, tensions between Syrians and Turks have escalated following a recent incident involving the sexual assault of a child by a Syrian immigrant.

Shortly after this incident, riots and disturbances began in Kayseri. Law enforcement has announced the arrest of 70 individuals involved in the unrest. The situation is also tense in Syria, where a Turkish vehicle with military plates was attacked. At the Bab al-Salam border crossing, Syrians removed and tore down the Turkish flag.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan condemned the attacks against Syrians, stating: “Nothing can be achieved by inciting xenophobia and hatred against migrants in society. One of the causes of the unfortunate incidents carried out by a small group yesterday in Kayseri is the toxic rhetoric of the opposition.”
