VIDEO: Without Light and Water. Power Outages Begin in Belgorod
Several regions in Belgorod, including the cities of Belgorod, Stary Oskol, and Gubkin, have been left without electricity. According to Belgorodenergo, this is due to a "technological failure caused by external influences on the power plant." Neighboring Voronezh and Kursk regions are also experiencing issues related to electricity supply.
In the regional center, traffic lights are not functioning due to the power outage, leading to issues with water supply. Authorities have urged residents to be cautious on the roads and to observe traffic regulations. Energy workers have already begun transferring electricity supply to consumers via backup schemes powered by mobile backup sources. Generators are being used for water supply and discharge.
The Belgorod city administration has stated that due to the power outages, mobile loudspeakers will be used in certain areas to alert residents about the danger of missile attacks. An alert was issued this morning around 8:00 AM.
Due to overloads, electricity supply has already been limited in several districts of the Voronezh region, specifically in the Ostrogozhsky, Liski, Kantemirovsky, and Kamensky districts, which are adjacent to Belgorod.
Authorities in the Kursk region are also warning of possible power outages. "Due to technological violations of electricity transmission lines in neighboring regions, Kursk region may experience a shortage of electricity supply. This situation has been discussed in an operational headquarters meeting led by Igor Makovskiy, the general director of Rosseti Center, which I attended," wrote acting Governor of Kursk region Alexey Smirnov on his Telegram channel.
The Belgorod region is subjected to daily shelling and drone attacks from Ukraine. Last night, drones attacked the border areas of Grayvoron and Shebekino. No injuries were reported as a result of the attacks. However, several settlements have been left without electricity due to the assaults.
